Title:
CIL 2-8-2 #524 - Chicago, Indianapolis & Louisville (Monon)
Description:
This heavily damaged but original photo shows a proud crew and possibly yard members posing in front of the 1912 Alco-Brooks built 2-8-2 Mikado (serial #51673). No date, location or photographer was listed for this rare photo printed on heavy postcard stock. An approximate date and location was used. Eric Reinert (see comment below) noticed several characteristics that push the date back to pre-WWr I and it seems correct. Thanks, Eric, for you help!

CIL 0-6-0 #37 - Chicago, Indianapolis & Louisville (Monon)
Description:
Typical 0-6-0 switcher built by Aloc-Brooks in October, 1923 originally as @IL #37. It was later renumbered CIL #97 in Octover of 1946 just before being retired in December of 1946. It was finally sold for scrapo in March of 1947. On the back of the photo, it lists Anderson, IN, as the location for the photo. Does anyone know why and how a Monon would have ended up in Anderson, IN, tht is, if it is a correct location? No date was given for the photo so an approximate one was used. C.C. Grayson photo credit.

Description:
This is a nice example of the Hoosier iconic Mikado built by Alco-Schenectady in 1929. Small discrepancy between the date of 1949 listed on the photo compared to www.SteamLocomotives.com which states this loco was sold to the Tennessee, Alabama & Georgia in 1948. Can anyone clarify this discrepancy? Specifics - 63" drivers, 220 psi boiler pressure, 27x32" cylinders, engine weight of 335,000 lb, tractive effort of 69,243 lb. T.W. Cassidy photo
