Before Brooks Locomotive Works joined the ALCo group, it built this 4-8-0 twelve wheeler as CIL #210 (Brooks serial #3496). The loco was renumbered CIL 230 in 1911 and was later rebuilt in 1925 with a new cylinder block and saddle.It was retired on 12/31/1946 and sold for scrap the following February, 1947. Rebuilt specs - 55" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 21x26" cylinders, engine weight of 196,000 lb. tractivce effort of 35,450 lb. Robert P. Morris photo |
