| Portraits 5. Here is a steam locomotive portrait by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Columbus, Ohio, on 19 August 1957. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6401, a J-1A (2-10-4) "Texas" built in Juniata during May of 1943 and retired in April of 1958 after just 15 years of revenue service. Looks to me like this venerable workhorse is headed to the Recycling Center. (#20 of 40) |
