Altoona Action. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Thomas H. Chenoweth that was taken in East Altoona, Pennsylvania, during June of 1969. Shown here is Penn Central engine #8955, an RT-624 built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton for the Pennsylvania Railroad as number "8955" in August of 1951 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. Partially visible at the right is PC engine #5577, an RS-3 built by the American Locomotive Company for the PRR as number "8477" in January of 1952 and rated at 1,600 horsepower.
