PRR 4557, I-1SA, 1953         
Blackhawk. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Homer T. Newton, Jr., that was taken in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on 6 July 1953. Photo Caption: "Pennsylvania 2-10-0 No. 4557, Pittsburgh, Pa. 6-7-1953." PRR engine #4557 is an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during September of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in October of 1939, and retired in January of 1960 after 37 years of faithful service. The number of the N-8 cabin car is not recorded. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Steam In Action from Virginia to Ohio" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (880-18).
