Five of New Jerseys iconic Arrow III MUs destined for the rural hills of Somerset County zip west through the Lackawanna Railroads historic Roseville Cut. This feat of railroad engineering was part of a massive grade separation project started in 1901 to remove all at-grade road crossings on the Morris & Essex branch between Newark and South Orange with a combination of cuts, bridges and elevation. The train is seen here running just east of the former Roseville Avenue Station, the station in which the cut received its name. |
