UP 10RM-6DB sleeper (Budd, Lot #9660-039, Plan #9522, 1950), sold in 1971 to Amtrak as #2621, converted in 1980 to HEP as #2893, modified in 1998 to a crew dormitory-lounge by removing the roomettes, stored at Beech Grove in 2006, current status unknown. Scanned with an Epson V550 from a duplicate Ektachrome 35mm slide. Photographer is unknown. |

Rolling past some of Chicago's finest scenery we see Amtrak 2893, once named PACIFIC NORTHWEST, at about 18th Street in Chicago, Illinois on September 27, 1986, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. This car was built by Budd in 1950 as UP 1428, same name, as a 10 Roomette, 6 Bedroom (10-6) sleeper, sometime after May 1, 1971 became AMTK 2621, upon conversion to HEP in February 1980 became AMTK 2893, became a Dormitory Sleeper and was renumbered to 2507 in February 1998, retired October 2006. |
