CB&Q XM-32C 18809
Title:  CB&Q XM-32C 18809
Description:  CB&Q XM-32C 18809, Kansas City, Missouri, April 1980, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Built at CB&Q's Havelock, Nebraska shops in 1951, this was one of 1,500 class XM-32C's in the CB&Q number series 18400-19399, C&S series 1250-1499, and FW&D series 8751-9000. The CB&Q series got Youngstown corrugated six foot doors, and the C&S and FW&D cars got Superior five-panel six foot doors. The trucks were split between Number 79 ASF type A-3 ride control trucks and Number 81 Barber stabilized type S-2-A trucks. As built it would have been outshopped in CB&Q's standard (in 1951) Mineral Red paint with slogans. The Chinese Red paint scheme (seen here) was introduced to the freight car fleet February 3, 1958.
