Album Info: | I made a couple of stops at Brownville Junction, an hour or so drive north of Bangor, Maine this past summer. On the 2nd visit we just happened to arrive moments before an eastbound freight was departed the yard for Northern Maine Jct. Brownville Jct was originally the interchange point between the BAR & CP. This is a large yard and used to be very busy. Now MMA operates the north/south BAR system and the CP line west of this point to Montreal via Moosehead & Jackman Maine. The track east of Brownville Jct is operated by New Brunswick Southern power and track is maintained by their Maine operating company The Eastern Maine RR. ((Not to be confused with the Maine Eastern which operates over the old MEC Rockland Branch.)) /DL |
