According to a brief bio composed by Mr. Andy Romano, "A retired firefighter, Al began shooting in 1954 after his interest in railroading was sparked by his grandfather, an engineer on the CB&Q, and his dad who was a railfan. Al built one of the largest train slide collections extant, and was making dupes of his slides available commercially for many years. He also co-authored a fine railfan
book spotlighting Al's friend Howard Fogg's remarkable body of railroad art." |
