Album Info: | The Massachusetts Bay Railroad Enthusiasts organized an autumn rare mileage public excursion along the P&W, the Northeast Corridor, and the Valley Railroad. Dubbed the "Two Rivers Rambler", the excursion departed from Worcester, MA and proceeded down the P&W Norwich Branch to Groton, CT, where it swung westbound onto the Northeast Corridor to Old Saybrook, CT, where it swung northbound onto the Valley Railroad. In Old Saybrook Valley RR steam locomotive 3025 took over pulling the special over the entire operating trackage including some new mileage north of Goodspeed that had just been opened earlier this year. A double photo run-by was staged at Chester, Ct for the passengers, then we re-traced our route back to Worcester. A Big thank you to the MBRRE, the Providence and Worcester Railroad, the Valley Railroad, and Amtrak for a memorably great day out polishing the rails! I rode the Saturday excursion with my son Ted; adding yet another great memory to our lifetime of railfanning together! |
