Description:  A Wheeling and Lake Erie train of two gondolas and ten tank cars is moving west past a pair of Union Pacific engines that are setting up for train Q277-28. It is hard to know from this picture but the yard is actually CSX.

This location is very unusual because there is an approach signal mounted right on top of the pole for the flasher lights. This SD40-2 was acquired by W&LE in 2014 and is former MJRX 6967/BNSF 6967/BNSF 7307/CN SD40 5031 built in January 1968.

Description:  Eastbound train 615 at MPC 1 (Mile 1) where ownership of the rail line transfers from CSX to W&LE. That is what the orange sign refers to. When this train enters CSX territory it takes on train number Z564-27. This SD40-2 was acquired by W&LE in 2014 and is former MJRX 6967/BNSF 6967/BNSF 7307/CN SD40 5031 built in January 1968.

Description:  A pair of GP40-3 engines are leaving Connellsville with just two buffer cars on the train after dropping off some loaded tanker cars for CSX. The crew was almost out of time and stopped at a road crossing a few miles west of here to get picked up. These trains now seem to be running in daylight hours again.

Description:  An SD40-2 stopped at the west end of the Connellsville CSX Yard with 16 tank cars plus buffer cars. The crew had to stop here because they did not know the switches to throw to get to 29 Track and a CSX employee had to show them. WE 6354 was one of two locomotives to play AWVR 1206 in the "Unstoppable" movie. Note that the Youghiogheny River is so muddy it almost looks like chocolate from all the recent heavy storms.

Description:  Z564-07 at the interchange of Wheeling and Lake Erie and CSX in Connellsville. They had some tank cars for the yard, which is the only product W&LE brings to Connellsville anymore. The three gondolas with gravel are buffer cars. Better to be safe than sorry, I suppose. W&LE 6995 SD40-2 is former CEFX 2813, UP 2813, UP 4763. and built as SP 5304 SD39 in August 1971.
